Exploration of the Platform at Work.

Planning for the future is key to progress and growth

The Platform features projects that are intended to deliver environmental and social impacts across four themes‒forestry, smart water systems, agriculture and energy. The Platform’s project team includes experts in environmental metrics, project design, and public policy that can assist with developing and implementing projects.

The Platform is actively helping to accelerate the mainstreaming of innovative financing tools in our region. Examples of Platform strategies include:

Green Bonds A fixed-income financial instrument linked to specific environmental outcomes.
Environmental Impact Bonds An innovative financing tool that uses a Pay for Success approach to directly tie investment returns to environmental and other outcomes in the region.
Green Lending Lending where the planned use of proceeds is for green purposes with clear, verifiable environmental benefits.
Real Assets Attracting external capital to invest in physical assets that have an intrinsic worth such as real estate, land and natural resources like timber.
The Platform’s goal is to help tools like these become more commonplace in order to grow demand, reduce financing risk, and lower transaction costs.
